As every well-informed food lover knows, full fat yogurt is all the rage these days. WeShop, being the super trendy place that it is, has recently joined the club, by adding Noosa Plain Yoghurt to their already expansive repertoire! We were beyond pumped in 2013 when our favorite campus grocery store started selling several flavors of Noosa’s creamy, fruit-based products, but now that they’ve added the plain to their repertoire, we’re overjoyed!
Why, you may ask, does plain Noosa Yoghurt excite us so much? Like the flavored varieties, plain Noosa is intensely thick and creamy, with a velvety texture that reminds us a little of cheesecake. That being said, we often found that the fruit at the bottom overpowered the fresh, tang of the yogurt itself, which is made “Australian style” on a family farm in colorado. The plain, on the other hand, speaks for itself. The slight tang is balanced out by the satisfying flavor of fresh whole milk.
It’s also fun to dress it up exactly how you want, with fresh fruit, cinnamon, nuts, or savory toppings (although we haven’t tried it yet, we’re itching to experiment olive oil, sea salt, and cucumbers). Our favorite recipe so far, though, is baked sweet potatoes, cooked with coconut oil, cinnamon, and a touch of cayenne pepper, then covered in a generous dollop of Noosa Yoghurt.
