Gilly’s Corner is where delicious dreams come true!

I went through a phase, as we all do, when I was obsessed with Nutella. Maybe I’m not out of it yet. Maybe I never want to come out of it. Who knows? I do know, however, that Nutella and chocolate chip cookies are a match made in heaven. I made these cookies for the first time at the beginning of the semester for a hall dinner. Someone suggested I make something with Nutella. Clearly I wasn’t going to ignore that. I figured I wanted to make something simple and easy, as I was busy that day and didn’t have more than an hour to whip them up. I debated on how to go about making them. Should I substitute Nutella in for some of the butter and sugar? Should I use my go to chocolate chip recipe and make chocolate-chip cookie Nutella sandwiches? I ultimately decided to change my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe slightly (I reduced the amount of butter, sugar and eggs) and add a thumbprint of Nutella to the cookie before baking. The cookies got raving reviews. Next time I make them, instead of putting a thumbprint of Nutella in the middle, I mid cover a drop of it with cookie dough so its flavor is in every bite. That being said, anyway you decide to make these- they will be delicious. How could they not be? We’re talking about Nutella and chocolate…
