What’s new at Usdan?  A lot of things, actually.  With the warm weather Bon Appetit has been serving up smoothies, iced chai, and the like.  Today, however, with the colder weather, I wasn’t really feeling a cold drink, but a little part of me still hoped to find something new upstairs in Usdan.

What I did find was sitting in a little jar by the coffee.  It was very unassuming, just tucked away in the corner.  The jar was labeled vegan and contained several chocolate dipped biscotti.  Being an omnivore myself, I am sometimes a bit wary of vegan food – particularly desserts.  However, biscotti seemed exactly what I wanted after lunch today, so I thought I’d give it a try.  I was very pleasantly surprised.  It had none of the weird aftertastes or textures that I sometimes find in vegan desserts.  In fact, the taste was almost indistinguishable from “regular” biscotti.  It was tasty, nutty, chocolatey, and satisfyingly crunchy.  Hopefully this will become a regular Usdan Marketplace offering.
